Skillet Meat Patties with Onion Gravy and Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients:
✅ 1 lb ground beef
✅ 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
✅ 1 egg
✅ 1/2 cup milk
✅ Salt and pepper to taste
✅ 2 large potatoes
✅ 2 tbsp butter
✅ 1/4 cup milk for mashed potatoes
✅ 1 large onion, sliced
✅ 2 cups beef broth
✅ 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
✅ 2 tbsp cooking oil
✅ Fresh herbs (such as parsley or thyme) for garnish

Instructions:
1️⃣ In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, salt, and pepper. Form into three patties and set aside.
2️⃣ Peel and cut the potatoes into chunks. Boil in salted water until tender. Drain and mash with butter and milk. Season with salt and pepper. Keep warm.
3️⃣ Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the meat patties and cook until browned on both sides. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
4️⃣ In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and cook until softened and golden. Sprinkle with flour and stir until the onions are coated.
5️⃣ Gradually pour in the beef broth while stirring, making sure to scrape the bottom of the skillet to release any browned bits. Bring the gravy to a simmer and cook until thickened.
6️⃣ Return the meat patties to the skillet and spoon some gravy over the top. Cover and simmer for about 15 minutes, or until the patties are cooked through.
7️⃣ To serve, spoon some mashed potatoes onto a plate. Top with a meat patty and generously ladle over the onion gravy. Sprinkle with fresh herbs.
