Ingredients

  • 4 pieces chicken thighs or drumsticks
  • 2 cups buttermilk for marinating
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour for coating
  • 1 tablespoon paprika for seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken:

  • In a bowl, combine chicken and buttermilk. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight for best results.

Prepare the Coating:

  • In another bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.

Fry the Chicken:

  • Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Dredge marinated chicken in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.
  • Carefully place chicken in the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 8-10 minutes on each side. Ensure chicken is cooked through.

Drain and Serve:

  • Remove chicken from oil and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Marinating Time: For the best flavor, marinate the chicken overnight.
  • Oil Temperature: Ensure the oil is hot enough to fry but not smoking to avoid burning the chicken.
