- 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 8 oz cream cheese softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 large egg for cream cheese mixture
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Prepare the Brownie Batter:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, and 2 large eggs until smooth. Add cocoa powder, flour, and salt, mixing until combined. Set aside.
Make the Cream Cheese Swirl:
In another bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, 1 egg, and vanilla extract with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
Assemble and Bake:
Pour half the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Spoon the cream cheese mixture over the brownie batter. Dollop the remaining brownie batter on top and swirl with a knife.
Bake for 35 minutes, or until the center is set and a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs. Allow to cool before slicing.
- For a richer flavor, add a handful of chocolate chips to the brownie batter.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an indulgent dessert!
