Ingredients
  

  • - 1 large onion
  • - 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • - 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • - 1 tsp paprika
  • - 1 tsp garlic powder
  • - 1 tsp onion powder
  • - 1 tsp salt
  • - 1 tsp black pepper
  • - Cooking spray
  • **For Guacamole:**
  • - 2 ripe avocados
  • - 1 lime juiced
  • - 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • - 1/2 tsp cumin
  • - 1/2 tsp paprika
  • - Salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • 1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • 2. Peel the onion and cut it into a blooming shape by slicing into it without cutting all the way through.
  • 3. Mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  • 4. Dip the onion into almond milk, then coat with the flour mixture. Repeat if necessary for full coverage.
  • 5. Place the onion on a baking sheet, spray with cooking spray, and bake for 25-30 minutes until crispy.
  • 6. For guacamole, mash avocados in a bowl, mix with lime juice, cilantro, cumin, paprika, and salt.
  • 7. Serve the blooming onion with guacamole for dipping.

Notes

- To make the onion even crispier, broil for the last 2 minutes of baking.
- Adjust spices in guacamole to taste.
- Serve immediately for the best texture.
