Ingredients

  • - 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • - 3/4 cup warm milk
  • - 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • - 1/4 tsp salt
  • - 1 large egg
  • - 4 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • - 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • - Oil for frying
  • - 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • - 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • - Sprinkles for topping

Instructions

  • 1. In a bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  • 2. Add sugar, salt, egg, butter, and flour. Mix until a dough forms.
  • 3. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
  • 4. Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut out donut shapes.
  • 5. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry donuts until golden, about 1 minute per side.
  • 6. Melt chocolate chips and heavy cream in a microwave or double boiler to make glaze.
  • 7. Dip cooled donuts into glaze and top with sprinkles.
  • 8. Allow glaze to set before serving.

Notes

- Ensure the oil is at the right temperature to avoid greasy donuts.
- Use a donut cutter for consistent shapes.
