- 1 lb ground beef or lamb
- 1 cup diced onions
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1 cup diced carrots
- 1 cup diced celery
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 4 cups beef broth
- 2 cups mashed potatoes
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried rosemary
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
Add ground meat and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
In the same pot, sauté onions, garlic, carrots, and celery until softened.
Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and rosemary. Cook for 2 minutes.
Return the meat to the pot and pour in beef broth. Simmer for 20 minutes.
Add peas and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
Stir in mashed potatoes until creamy and well-blended.
Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Serve hot.
